Job Title: Lifeguard (m/f/d)

Responsibilities:​

  • Monitoring the swimming area

  • Ensuring the safety of swimmers

  • Providing first aid incase of an emergency.

  • Conducting swimming lessons when called upon.

  • Co-ordinating cleanliness of the swimming area.

  • Co-ordinating general maintainance of swimming pool and equipment.

Requirements

  • Excellent swimming skills.

  • A professional Lifeguard, Swimming Coach, Diver OR a good swimmer.

  • German language skills level B1 or B2 and above.

  • First aid knowledge & training is desirable.

The following are the documents we will require from you for the application:

  • Lifeguard certificate and/or any other relevant certificates.

  • Deutsch Language certificate if available.

  • Upto date First Aid certificate (From St. John Ambulance, Red Cross or any other institution that is recognised internationally. Kindly consult with us incase of any clarifications).

  • Copy of passport (Biodata page).

  • International police clearance certificate in English or German, not older than 6 months.

  • High quality & creative Video.  

    • In the first part of the video, you will introduce yourself in German. Remember to state: who you are, where you come from, how long you have been working as a lifeguard/Swimming Coach/Diver/Swimmer, where you work currently and why you want to work in Germany. Please note that this first part should focus on you. So we prefer that you are not in the water. Nor is your torso overexposed . Fancy equipment including sunglasses are unecessary. Kindly Speak normally and ensure that you are clear & audible.

    • In the 2nd part of the Video, you show how well you can swim. Include the following in the video: 

      • 25m backstroke without arms, only with legs,

      • 25m breaststroke,

      • 25m diving with only one breath and without surfacing,

      • Freestyle swimming every 25m.

It is best to do it without swimming goggles, let yourself be filmed from the side of the pool, you have to be able to see that it is you who is swimming there. It's not about speed, it's about recognizing how well you can swim.

Please take into account that the videos are a very important step that will determin whether you get the job as a Lifeguard in Germany or not.

 

The interested employer in Germany is a city, i.e. a public authority. They Absolutely need the videos for evaluation. The better and clearer your videos the better your chances.
